Prometheus Federal Services and Atlas Research Awarded Contract to Provide VA Medical Centers with Audit Support Services

June 23, 2021

WASHINGTON, DC – Titan Alpha, a joint venture between Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) and Atlas Research, was awarded a task order to conduct access to care audits at all 140 U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMCs).

The Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 requires facility-level audits for appointment scheduling and consultation management at VAMCs. Audit results are synthesized to gauge collective and individual VAMC performance metrics and improve access to care measures for underperforming VAMCs.

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Access Office is responsible for partnering with an unaffiliated entity to conduct two iterations of audits and subsequent recommendations. The first audit applies to all 140 VAMCs. The second audit applies to only those VAMCs that need corrective action based on the first audit.

“VHA operates the largest integrated health care system in the United States,” said PFS President Greg Smallwood. “An integral element of high-quality health care is timely access to care for the more than 9 million Veterans enrolled in the system. Titan Alpha appreciates the opportunity to be part of helping to improve Veteran care through this contract.”

“Titan Alpha understands the urgency and need for these audits,” said Atlas Research Senior Manager Margo Rubertus. “We have a team of health care transformation professionals with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the VHA systems and policies, combined with commercial audit expertise. Our team will use these best practices to plan and conduct fast, reliable, and impartial audits.”

This contract was awarded on the VHA Integrated Healthcare Transformation (IHT) contract, a 10-year, $1 billion vehicle awarded to PFS and Atlas Research.
