November 17, 2009

A recent journal article co-authored by Hilda Heady was published in the May/June 2013 issue of Health Progress. “Rural Vets: Their Barriers, Problems, Needs” identifies evolving population trends, including the aging of rural Veterans, the growing number of female Veterans, and the rates of homelessness among Veterans which place significant demands on the Department of Veterans Affairs and rural delivery systems. The authors discuss how coordination among health care providers is essential for increasing the availability of services and expanding Veteran outreach programs.
