Atlas Research President and CEO Ryung Suh, MD, has been named a 2010 Minority Business Leader by the Washington Business Journal. Honored as one of the Washington area’s top minority business leaders who exhibited outstanding performance, Dr. Suh will be profiled in the April 30, 2010, edition of the Washington Business Journal and honored at an awards program on April 30, 2010, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington.
Dr. Suh is an entrepreneur and business leader in the Greater Washington Area. Leveraging fifteen years of private sector experience as a health care executive and scholar, and a distinguished military career that included combat tours in Afghanistan (where he was awarded a Bronze Star Medal) and service as Command Surgeon of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Dr. Suh founded Washington-based Atlas Research in 2008 and has overseen its rise from a small startup to a thriving health care solutions and research firm at the leading edge of Veterans and military health, disaster preparedness and response, and health systems strategic planning.
Dr. Suh is also an active member of the Georgetown University community, serving as a faculty member in the Health Systems Administration department and the medical school as well as the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He manages a sponsored research portfolio that exceeds $25 million and oversees dozens of research assistants and graduate assistants on the Georgetown campus. He also serves as a Senior Fellow at the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago. Building off his twenty years of military experience, Dr. Suh continues to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves, as chief of the chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) technical advisory cell, in Abingdon, MD.
