Atlas Research Sponsors 30th Annual National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic

April 5, 2016

Atlas Research sponsored the 30th annual National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic taking place April 3-8, 2016 in Snowmass, Colorado. The clinic, co-hosted by DAV (Disabled American Veterans) and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), is the largest adaptive event of its kind, offering nearly 400 Veterans a diverse range of training from skiing and snowboarding to rock climbing and scuba diving.

“We're reminded each day through our work with Veterans of their commitment and sacrifice,” said Mark H. Chichester, President of Atlas Research. "Atlas Research is honored to support Veterans in their health journey by both sponsoring and volunteering at the Winter Sports Clinic.”

The event brings Veterans with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, orthopedic amputations, visual impairments, certain neurological conditions, and other injuries to the mountain for a week of fun sports and other activities. Participation is open to military Veterans with qualifying disabilities who receive care at VA medical facilities.

Atlas volunteers are in Snowmass to support Veterans as they participate in Nordic and Alpine skiing, rock climbing, scuba diving, sled hockey, target shooting and snowmobiling.
