Atlas Research volunteers supported the annual Winterhaven Homeless Stand Down event at the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center on January 26, 2019.
The event offered health screenings, housing and employment counseling, dental exams, free food, and clothing to more than 800 homeless and at-risk Veterans from the Washington, DC area. Atlas volunteers, who have supported Winterhaven for nearly a decade, assisted with registration, wayfinding, and materials distribution.
Winterhaven is supported by more than 100 government and community organizations in the Washington, DC area, and more than 600 volunteers. It is a part of a proactive and multifaceted U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) initiative to end Veteran homelessness.
