Atlas Research Receives Veterans Health Administration Contract to Assess Delivery of Comprehensive Health Care to Women Veterans

October 15, 2013

Atlas Research has been awarded a contract from the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) to evaluate the delivery of comprehensive health care to women Veterans.

The Atlas Team, which includes Booz Allen Hamilton, will support the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Women’s Health Services program office by conducting comprehensive onsite evaluations of nearly 70 women’s health programs nationwide. The team will examine services, communication, collaboration, patient-centered care, and patient-aligned care teams. Using the evaluation data, the team will develop recommendations to inform organizational training, improvement, and policy initiatives to enhance health care for women Veterans.

Women Veterans have historically been underserved; their care has been fragmented and their health care needs have not been adequately addressed. By evaluating the status of health care delivery, Atlas will help VHA enhance the delivery of health care to women Veterans, the VA Women’s Health Services’ top priority.

“An essential job of health care leaders is to continually review the capacity of the system to meet the evolving needs of its clients,” said Mark H. Chichester, Atlas President. “This project really underscores VHA’s commitment to proactively ensure that those who have dedicated their time and service to our country will be provided fair opportunities and access to quality care. Our team within Atlas is extremely honored to support VHA and our women Veterans.”
