Using Infographics to Communicate About PTSD

Challenge

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Center for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (NCPTSD) sought a partner to visually communicate important and often complex information about the symptoms of and treatment options for PTSD to Veterans, caregivers, and clinicians.

Solution

After working with the NCPTSD’s subject matter experts to define key project goals, audiences, and messages, Atlas Research created a set of infographics to communicate about PTSD treatment and symptoms. The infographics convey evidence-based information in an interesting and easily understood visual. The infographics are designed to reach clinicians, Veterans, and civilians through a variety of mediums including social media channels, websites, and posters in VA Medical Centers.

Result

The visually engaging format of these infographics allows the NCPTSD to reach a broad audience with important and easy-to-understand messages about PTSD that resonate with target audiences. This can enhance the adoption of evidence-based treatment methods among clinicians diagnosing and treating individuals who experience PTSD in addition to educating patients and potential patients about the symptoms of PTSD and available treatment options to effectively manage these symptoms.
