Young Bang

Chief Growth Officer

As the Chief Growth Officer at Atlas Research, Mr. Bang uses his broad knowledge of the Federal market (Health, Defense, Intelligence, and Civil) to guide the firm’s growth in existing, adjacent, and new markets. His extensive experience in business development, capture, IDIQs, MACs, and BPAs and will further position Atlas Research for future growth and scale. Additionally, he helps the firm look at expanding capabilities and service lines that are complimentary to existing services for Atlas Research, while helping them focus on both short-term and long-term growth. 

Prior to joining Atlas Research, Mr. Bang was a Partner/Senior Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton in the Justice, Homeland, Transportation, State Department, and Postal market, where he concentrated on growth, innovations, and technology. Previously, he led the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence practice for Defense and Intel clients in the Innovations Group at Booz Allen. Previous to that, he drove growth in the firm’s Health business specifically around Health IT in the Department of Veterans Affairs, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institutes of Health, and the Food and Drug Administration. He is a recognized expert and speaker in health IT, artificial intelligence, data science and big data, DevSecOps, orchestration, containerization, systems engineering, the software development lifecycle, cloud computing, product development, portfolio management, biometrics, acquisition process, telecommunications, logistics, supply and maintenance, and manufacturing. He also supported clients in the Army, Navy, Air Force, the Office of Secretary of Defense, Defense Logistics Agency, Intelligence Communities, and other Department of Defense agencies.

Mr. Bang is on the board of Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE), a nonprofit that promotes the influence of Asians in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields. He is/was an executive board member for JOOL Health, and Epidemico, and teaches IT undergraduate courses at Georgetown University.  In May 2012, he assisted in the publication of Biometric Identity Assurance Service Simple Object Access Protocol Profile version 1.0 Oasis Standard. He has also served as a guest lecturer for organizations such as IT/SEC, South by Southwest, the Defense Acquisition University, FedScoop, National Defense University, Asian American Government Executive Network, SASE, Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University, and the Biometric Consortium.  He was also an Olympic torch runner for the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, Korea.

Mr. Bang hails from Baltimore, MD and holds a Bachelor of Science in Leadership and Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He loves to snowboard and is passionate about helping and giving back to Veterans, the Armed Forces, and the Nation.
