Tim Tinker

Tim Tinker, DrPH, is a senior executive with more than 20 years of experience as a social, behavioral, and cognitive scientist in strategic communication research, strategy development, training, and best practices.

An internationally-recognized expert in strategic communication and issues/reputation management, Dr. Tinker previously worked at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he developed and directed the Center of Excellence for Risk and Crisis Communication. The Center’s multidisciplinary, 20-member team provided expertise and services in strategic communication assessment, management, and evaluation for government, private industry, and not-for-profit organizations.

Prior to his tenure with Booz Allen, Dr. Tinker was a Senior Vice President and Group Practice Director for Crisis Communication and Issues Management at a Washington, DC-based public relations firm, and for nearly 10 years was Chief of Communications and Evaluation at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. Tinker holds a Doctorate of Public Health from the University of Texas, a Master of Public Health from the University of Oklahoma, a Master of Arts in Southern African Studies from the University of York in England, and Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma.
