October 10, 2017

Atlas Research President and CEO Robin Portman and Executive Vice President Beth Mahan have accepted invitations to join executive councils in WashingtonExec, a private membership organization providing a forum for Washington, DC-area executives to engage in outcome-oriented networking.

Ms. Portman joins the WashingtonExec General Managers Council and Ms. Mahan will be on the Federal Business Council.

"I am excited to be a part of such a vibrant and active industry group,” Ms. Portman said. “I look forward to taking advantage of all the opportunities it will offer for our Atlas business."

“Being a part of the Federal Business Council gives me the great opportunity to foster further Atlas Research work in government innovation, health and technology,” Ms. Mahan said.

Atlas Research is a government services organization in the health, federal, and defense markets. The privately held firm founded in 2008 was recently named by Inc. magazine as Washington, DC’s 12th-fastest growing company in 2017 based on revenue and employee growth.

WashingtonExec facilitates professional development, personal and corporate branding, and leadership opportunities through targeted, mission-focused, and collaborative events. These events include more than 120 roundtables each year through mission-specific councils with senior-level government officials and industry leaders to identify new markets and learn about the competition.

The councils are focus areas for particular leadership roles. Ms. Portman will be on a council specializing in general management while Ms. Mahan is on a council focusing on federal government business.

WashingtonExec also publishes a daily and weekly digital magazine for the National Capital Region executive business community with more than 10,000 readers who include top entrepreneurs, executives, and thought leaders.

Prior to joining Atlas earlier this year, Ms. Portman served as director of the Strategic Innovation Group at Georgetown University, where she also served as an adjunct professor in the School of Nursing and Health Studies. Previous to Georgetown, she served as executive vice president and chief growth officer at Booz Allen Hamilton, where, following a successful tenure as a leader of the firm’s health business, she supported and grew work across the defense, security, civil, and commercial markets.

Ms. Portman is active in the greater Washington, DC community, where she serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations, including Easter Seals of MD, DC and VA; the Elizabeth Dole Foundation; Psych Armor Institute; the University of Maryland, College Park Foundation; and Service Source Inc.

Ms. Mahan has more than 20 years of experience in health care, hospital operations, and management, and is an accomplished business developer in the federal health care and technology environment. As a member of the executive team, Ms. Mahan provides business development leadership and help shape client solutions across federal health.

Ms. Mahan joined Atlas Research in 2014 after a sixteen-year tenure, including the latter five years of her tenure as a principal, with the health operations team of Booz Allen Hamilton.
