Atlas Research’s Diffusion of Excellence Project Receives 2018 FedHealthIT Innovation Award

June 13, 2018

FedHealthIT has awarded the Department of Veterans Affairs Diffusion of Excellence Initiative with a 2018 Innovation Award. Managed by Atlas Research in support of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Quality, Safety and Value, the Diffusion Initiative is one of 26 Federal Health programs recognized by FedHealthIT for leading effective transformation, evolving technology, and delivering notable results in support of its mission.

Over the past three years, the Diffusion of Excellence Initiative has leveraged the VA Innovators Network to stimulate and promote innovation, and it recognizes staff that adapt private sector best practices and develop smart solutions to address VA’s greatest challenges. The Diffusion Initiative has effectively identified, diffused, and sustained 36 best practices at more than 344 facilities within VHA, benefitting nearly 100,000 Veterans. Diffusion Initiative activities have also led to more than $22 million in cost savings for VA.

Awardees were honored at the 4th annual 2018 FedHealthIT Innovation awards on June 12th, 2018 at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. This event brought together more than 300 Federal Health leaders from Government and industry to celebrate the programs that are achieving access and elevating efficiencies through models that are modern, secure, and scalable.
