Mental Health and PTSD

Challenge

According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), nearly 20 percent of U.S. adults suffer from some form of mental illness at any point in time. Statistics from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) show that returning Service Members are significantly more likely than the broader population to experience trauma-related psychological disorders such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In addition, many people who suffer from mental health disorders face barriers to seeking professional help, such as stigma, limited financial resources, and geographic distance from health care providers.

Solution

Atlas Research has supported numerous mental and behavioral health wide array of stakeholder audiences, including patients, caregivers, employees, and clinicians. We have extensive knowledge of evidence-based best practices in improving mental and behavioral health outcomes, especially among hard-to-reach audiences such as rural, homeless, and minority populations who face additional challenges to accessing quality care and services.

Atlas has counted among its senior leadership combat Veterans and family members of Veterans who have experienced PTSD, and we have a deep understanding of and expertise in the barriers to care that Veterans encounter in treating the physical and psychological scars of combat.
