The current overhaul of U.S. health care delivery systems and processes has required another comprehensive reassessment of existing health policies, programs, and procedures. The mantra of health care, however, remains unchanged: to enhance the health and well-being of Americans by providing effective health and human services and fostering advances in the sciences, medicine, public health, and social services. It requires, then, well coordinated efforts among the multidisciplinary professionals to render their expertise in health care development, from policy planning to medical/clinical research proficiency to health care provision.
