Kate Lynch Machado

As Atlas Research's Vice President of Business Development, Kate Lynch Machado manages strategic planning and implementation of business development goals and objectives for the firm. Her activities include identifying and cultivating general and opportunity-specific potential partners, cultivating new and enhancing existing client relationships, linking client issues and needs to specific new business opportunities, and coordinating and managing cross-selling of programs, skills, and expertise across the firm.

Prior to joining Atlas, Ms. Lynch Machado managed business development activities for the Altarum Institute and Health Systems Research, Inc. Her activities included researching funding sources, evaluating opportunities, and providing staff with information on organizations and activities to assist them in pursuing new work. Ms. Lynch Machado assisted in developing proposal materials, including budgets, in response to funding opportunities. Working in various capacities for Altarum and Health Systems Research over the past 10 years, Ms. Lynch Machado has been responsible for managing several health policy and research-related initiatives, for quality control management, for ensuring fiscal responsibility, and for guaranteeing adherence to government regulations for each task order under the contract.

In addition, Ms. Lynch Machado also served as the contract manager and as the technical assistance contract manager for Altarum's conference support contract with the PSC. With approximately ten task orders under that contract each year, Ms. Lynch Machado managed the response to task order requests, identified appropriate task order managers, and directed the successful completion of projects according to budget and schedule. In addition to serving as the contract manager, she also has served as the project manager on several large, high-profile task orders under this contract.

Ms. Lynch Machado earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology/economics from Randolph-Macon College and has completed course work for Master's degree in health care administration at Western Connecticut University.
