Atlas Research Co-Hosts Free Military Caregiver Webinar Series

July 14, 2014

Atlas Research, the Easter Seals Dixon Center, and other partners recently hosted a free online webinar for military caregivers. The webinar, Military Caregivers at Work: What You Need to Know to Protect Yourself and Your Family from Discriminatory Practices, was the second installment of a series developed to meet a growing need for caregiver education identified through a RAND needs assessment study commissioned by the Elizabeth Dole Foundation.

The RAND study found that many of the 5.5 million Americans caring for ill or wounded Service Members have significant gaps in support, prompting the Elizabeth Dole Foundation’s creation of Hidden Heroes: The National Coalition for Military Caregivers. Coalition members include Atlas Research, the Easter Seals Dixon Center, the Family Caregiver Alliance, the Caregiver Action Network, the National Alliance for Caregiving, the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving, and United Service Organizations (USO).

Experts from the National Alliance for Caregiving, the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and New Mexico State University presented to 200 attendees during last week’s webinar.
