Atlas Research Receives Award to Ensure Optimal Performance of Housing Stability Programs for Veteran Families

October 20, 2014

Atlas Research received an award to continue its support of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program, an initiative of the VA National Center on Homelessness Among Veterans.

SSVF provides grants to private non-profit organizations and consumer cooperatives that promote housing stability among very low-income Veteran families living in or transitioning to permanent housing. Within SSVF, service provision is designed to be flexible and tailored to meet the immediate needs of the Veterans and their family members. Atlas, along with partners Technical Assistance Collaborative and Abt Associates, will audit, track, and report grantees’ activity, performance, and compliance with SSVF program regulations.

The Atlas Team conducted 300 comprehensive onsite monitoring visits of SSVF grantees nationwide in the project’s first year, helping them comply with program requirements and adhere to SSVF best practice standards. This year, the team will conduct 415 monitoring visits and analyze findings to recommend tools and procedures for optimal project performance. In addition, Atlas will implement an updated Universal Monitoring Package (UMP) to ensure quality monitoring reports.

“Atlas is honored to continue its partnership with the National Center on Homelessness Among Veterans,” said Hilda R. Heady, MSW, Senior Vice President of Atlas Research.  “We are pleased with VA’s confidence in our performance and look forward to working with Technical Assistance Collaborative, Abt Associates, and Supportive Services for Veteran Families grantees across the country to support this vital effort to improve housing stability among Veteran families.”
