Atlas Research will collaborate with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) to conduct an evaluation assessing the return on investment related to AHRQ’s support of the Mentored Research Scientist Research Career Development Award (K01); the Independent Scientist Career Development Award (K02); and the Mentored Clinical Scientist Award (K08). The evaluation will inform AHRQ of commonly used metrics for evaluating federal training and career development investments and the outcomes and impact of the K programs, and will demonstrate alignment with and contribution to agency priorities.
The Atlas Team, which includes Abt Associates, will use a mixed-method evaluation approach that includes analysis of AHRQ documents and an existing database, abstraction of data to enhance this database, comparison of program participants to unsuccessful applicants and other groups, and a new survey of program participants.
